FAQ’s

Have a question you don’t see listed below? Send us a message.

Do my countertops need to be sealed?

An impregnating sealer will be applied at time of installation. This product acts as a moisture barrier and will make your Phenix countertops more stain resistant. The impregnating sealers typically do not require regular reapplications.

Will my Phenix countertops scratch or etch?

Phenix is naturally very dense and resistant to scratching. You should not have any trouble with scratching under normal wear and use. However, like most other natural stone, while Phenix is scratch-resistant it is not completely scratch-proof and might be damaged if abused.

Phenix is a limestone and might etch if exposed to acidic foods or cleaners like citrus juices or vinegar. Prevent this by using only mild cleaning products and using a cutting board when preparing acidic foods. The impregnator applied to your countertops will act as a protective barrier and allow you time to clean up any spills that may occur.

Will my Phenix countertops stain?

Thanks to its high density and extremely low absorption rate, Phenix naturally repels stains. The impregnator acts as secondary layer of protection meaning your Phenix countertops are safe from stains and will be beautiful for years to come.

Do I need to condition or treat my countertops with anything?

While it is not strictly necessary, many customers like to condition their natural stone countertops. We recommend using a food-grade mineral oil such as butcher block oil. This can be used for spot treatments or all-over care.
